Kshitij`25, the flagship inter-collegiate cultural festival of Mithibai College,
commemorated India’s 79th Independence Day with two flag hoisting
ceremonies at the Santacruz Police Colony and SS Dongri Police Colony in
Goregaon paying tribute to the dedication and sacrifice of Mumbai’s police
force.

The celebration in Santacruz was graced by filmmaker Rohit Shetty and actors
Nushrratt Bharuccha and Amruta Khanvilkar. Both venues saw the unfurling of
the national flag, the singing of the national anthem, and heartfelt tributes to
India’s martyrs.

Rohit Shetty praised the Mumbai Police as “true protectors of the city.”
Nushrratt Bharuccha said, “It’s an honour to celebrate freedom and remember
the sacrifices made.

Amruta Khanvilkar added, “Today is about honoring our freedom and those who fought for it.

Prof. Krutika Desai, Principal of Mithibai College stated, “Mithibai College is
proud to engage with the Mumbai Police in honoring our freedom. Such
events inspire our students to uphold the spirit of unity and service.”

Bhoomi Shah, Chairperson of Mithibai Kshitij expressed, “Independence Day is a
reminder of the values that bind us together. Hosting these celebrations with
our police force strengthens our connection to the community and to the
ideals of our nation.”

By celebrating in both Santacruz and Goregaon, Mithibai Kshitij extended its
commitment beyond the campus, strengthening its bond with the city.
