RAIPUR| Although the new Motor Vehicle Act is not currently implemented in Chhattisgarh, but an order issued by the State Police Headquarters (PHQ) has put the policemen into pressure. If the policemen are seen breaking the traffic rules, then they have been strictly instructed to recover double the fine amount according to the new Motor Vehicle Act. In this regard, the police headquarters has issued orders to all the Superintendents of Police.

Even for breaking the rules of government employment under this Act, the penalty will be double. However, this MV Act has not been implemented in Chhattisgarh. At present, the previous penalty is being charged.

 

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, restates his comments on Motor Vehicle Amendment Act(MV Act) says that the nation must needs a strict traffic law. “There is no wrong intent behind this amendment, and no politics over public safety,” he said.

After executing the MV Act, awareness is increasing among the people. A strict actions were taken under various states to control the highest number of road accidents. Those states who doesn’t implementing the Act, to be responsible for safety of their people, says Gadkari.

Why were strict steps taken?

Union Minister explained why a strict law for the safety on road was required in India. “The problem is neither they have fear nor respect for laws, Isn’t life more important than a fine? If you don’t break rules, you won’t be fined. The rates of accident will mark down, that is our priority,” the minister said to the media in an Event.
