3 Days Online Academic Festival Organised at Kalinga University

Raipur. Kalinga University is a leading University in central India. It is committed to developing the students with in-depth analytical and decision-making skills through extensive use of experiential learning methods. In this context, the Faculty of Commerce & Management organized a 3 Days Online Academic Festival. This Festival was organized in association with Professor Amartya Sen Chair (named in honor of the Indian Economist and Philosopher), which has been established by Kalinga University. Under this chair, Kalinga University is committed to working for the betterment of society through research, education, and public engagement.

This 3 Days Online Academic Festival is Comprised of Case Study Competition and Book Review Competition. The case study methodology is an important technique in promoting experiential learning. The university has adopted this technique to encourage the holistic development of students. The main objective of the case study competition was to develop analytical and critical ability among the students under different situations. The students were presented with different cases studies with questions based on them and were asked to present their view on the cases before the Audience and Judges.

More than ten teams participated in the event. The participants found the event to be very exciting and learning-oriented. Dr. Paritosh Dube and Ms. Komal Gupta, Faculty of Commerce & Management, declared the winners as follows: 1st Position Nishant Kashyap & Sania Dewangan BBA 3rd semester, 2nd Position Prini Verma, Dixita Sanga, Priya Sinha, Shraddha Duddani BBA 3rd Semester, 3rd Position Isha Yadav, Kalpana Netam, Jyoti shah BCOM BF 3rd Semester.

Under book review competition students from different departments of the Kalinga University had put down their views on the work of Prof. Amartya Sen. The evaluation was based on effective communication and originality of thoughts.

Jury members declared Ayush Pal of BA 5th Semester as the winner of the event, Sania Dewangan of BBA 3rd Semester was the first runner up of the event and Kaustubh Singh of B.Com 5th Semester was the second runner up.

The book review event was conducted by Mr. Deepak Kumar Tripathi, Assistant Professor, under the guidance of Dr. Monika Sethi Sharma, Professor Incharge, Amartya Sen Chair, and Dean of Commerce and Management, Kalinga University.
