Kshitij`25, the flagship international inter-collegiate cultural festival of Mithibai College, joined hands with Bond & Beyond to pay a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. On 26th November, students and community members came together at the iconic Gateway of India for a silent candle march held in solemn remembrance of the brave souls who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The memorial initiative stood as a powerful reminder of resilience, unity, and the enduring spirit of Mumbai. As candles glowed softly against the historic backdrop, participants walked in complete silence, honouring the courage of the police officers, security personnel, and innocent civilians whose lives were lost on that tragic day.
The event fostered a collective moment of reflection, patriotism, and gratitude. Students carried placards and candles, symbolising hope, peace, and the city’s unbreakable strength. The march aimed to acknowledge the sacrifices made while inspiring today’s youth to uphold the values of responsibility, courage, and compassion.
Prof. Krutika B. Desai, Principal of Mithibai College, stated, “Commemorations like these instil deep sensitivity and awareness among students. Remembering our martyrs is a duty, and I am proud that our students uphold this sense of national consciousness through Kshitij.”
Bhoomi Shah, Chairperson of Kshitij`25, added, “This silent march was our tribute to the heroes who protected our city. It reminded us that Kshitij is not just a festival, it is a platform for reflection, solidarity, and purposeful action.”
