Raipur : The Department of Social Work, Faculty of Arts & Humanities of Kalinga University, organized an industrial visit cum practical training on HR Management at Jayaswal NECO Limited based at Siltara, Raipur. The trip was organized under the guidance of Mr. A. K. Kaul, HOD of Sociology and Social Work Department, Kalinga University.

The objective of the visit was to provide students an insight regarding the internal working of the company and opportunity to learn practically through interaction with the Management about the working of the plant, the management of human resources and their overall contribution to society.
The visit also aimed to make the students aware and have a better understanding of the processes involved into running an industry and managing diverse group of people from across different cultures and backgrounds, keeping the organizational goal in view.

NECO group of industries are into the production of large-scale Iron and Steel Castings, and cater to the needs of Automotive, Engineering, Power, Railways, Bearings, Structural and Fastener industries in India. Their products include high-quality fabricated specialty steel products. The HR Team under the guidance of President (HRM) Mr. Dilip Mohanty gave an insightful presentation about the production process, management of human resources, the practical challenges faced and the expectations from the employees.
The students were greatly benefitted by this hands – on experience. They were also taken on a site visit to the different factories of NECO and oriented on the manufacturing and processing units. The visit was very useful for the students as they could relate their theoretical knowledge with the practical exposure which they could gain after visiting this plant. It was a good learning experience for the students.
