Kalinga University, Raipur : Kalinga University, Raipur is a NAAC B+ accredited university with a NIRF ranking in the rank band of 151-200 range that has truly emerged as a Center of excellence in higher education in central India. Kalinga University constructed well-equipped Central Instrumentation Facilities in order to advance its research and development efforts (CIF).

CIF emphasizes the development of a research environment by facilitating the students, instructors, external academic institutes, and R&D corporations with access to cutting-edge research equipments. The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) at Kalinga University seeks to provide a centralized facility with cutting-edge analytical techniques for research in diverse fields of science and technology. CIF’s services are widely used by undergraduate, postgraduate & doctorate students, university instructors, employees and other organizations from around India. External entities, national academic institutions, are also provided access to the facility at a nominal cost. The Kalinga University CIF provides advanced instrumentation and technical skills to support research and industrial R&D.

After successful execution of training program on Advance Instrumentation CIF of Kalinga University organized a Hands-on Training program on, Water Analysis on 17 March, 2022. The training program started with an inaugural ceremony at Central Instrumentation Facility, that was graced by the eminent presence of Vice-Chancellor- Dr. R. Shridhar, Director General- Dr. Byju John, Deans and Heads of various departments, faculty members, participants and students of the University. Vice-Chancellor Dr. R. Shridhar stressed in his address that the purpose of this training programme is to enable users to succeed and stay up with global developments, as well as to publish their research findings in high impact factor peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Byju John, Director General and Dean of Research stated that the content and quality of this training program is created in such a way that a trainee can easily meet laboratory research and industry requirements. After completing the program, the trainees will undoubtedly comprehend the architecture, function, and operation of numerous molecular approaches mentioned in this forum.
The training program started with the inauguration and welcome of the dignitaries by Dr. Manoj Singh, Associate Professor- Department of Zoology. In the first scientific session, a brief of Water Analysis was presented by Dr. Preeti Pandey, Assistant Professor- Department of Chemistry. She detailed the analysis of water as there are 25 methods to test the water quality, how the test is performed and what is the reason for doing it. Then together with Ms. Priyanka Gupta, Assistant Professor- Department of Chemistry, Dr. Preeti gave a practical exposure on pH meter and Turbidity Meter along with Demonstration of Sample Preparation and Detection of Metal and Demonstration of Dissolved Oxygen. The training program was concluded by a ceremonial valedictory function and vote of thanks that was well synchronized by Dr. Manoj Singh and Dr. Sandip Tiwari Associate Professor and Head of Department – Faculty of Pharmacy.
Then a short visit to explore the Campus was led by Dr. Sandip Tiwari and Faculty members. This workshop was successful in extending a proper Knowledge about the different methods and types to test water quality by including theoretical lectures followed by hands-on training sessions. As part of this training programme, participants got intensive training on a range of applications.
The Kalinga University CIF, which includes numerous modern analytical instruments, is run and maintained by a devoted and competent group of Professors, Scientists, and Engineers led by the University’s Dean of Research.
